ESA EXPRO+ S2S3 Model Snow - Development and Demonstration of Synergistic Snow Products from Optical Sensors Data and Snow Models (2017 - 2019)
The main objectives of this project are to (i) investigate the synergistic use for Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 data for seasonal snow monitoring, (ii) develop a snow pack models driven by meteorological parameters to generate cloud cleared snow extent products (i.e. observation gaps caused by clouds are filled) from optical satellite data, and (iii) demonstrate the synergistic use of the snow pack model and the snow extent products from Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 data.

ESA Contract No. 4000119901/17/I-EF
ESA - KaSARApp - KA-Band SAR Application Consolidation and Requirement Definition Study (2018 - 2019)
The project aims at (i) identifying key applications for a Ka-band SAR mission, with an emphasis on SPInSAR applications, (ii) deriving the corresponding mission requirements, assessing the expected L2 performance by means of an end-to-end simulation tool, to be developed within the activity, and by the analysis of available data sets, and (iii) consolidating and refining the mission and system concept, exploiting trade-off spaces identified during the study. ENVEO is subcontractor responsible for cryosphere and natural hazards.

ESA Contract No. 4000122671/17/NL/FF/gp
ESA EXPRO+ L-band SAR Applications and Requirements Consolidation Study (2017 - 2019)
This study aims to consolidate the application needs and the observation requirements for future operational L-band SAR missions, as well as to define the corresponding preliminary mission and technical requirements. The study encompassses the whole chain from the definition of a mission goal to the final plannning of a mission with the spacecraft. As the study is launched for 15 months the analysis can be done only on a basis of a first order assessment of the complete chain.

ESA SAMBA High Resolution SAR Algorithms for Mass Balance and Dynamics of Calving Glaciers (2016 - 2017)
The overall goal of the High Resolution SAR Algorithms for Mass Balance and Dynamics of Calving Glaciers (SAMBA) project is to advance the utilization of high resolution SAR sensors for better understanding of flow dynamics and processes of ice/climate interactions of calving glaciers and for reducing the uncertainties in mass balance of calving glaciers and on their current sea level contributions in regions of high climate sensitivity. This work is based on data of the TanDEM-X and TerraSAR-X missions.
